Murrieta, CA
1890 brought Murrieta’s first boom in population after the Southern California Railroad laid tracks linking the valley to its southern transcontinental route. After the trains halted movement through the city in 1935, it stayed small and quiet until Interstate 15 was extended through the valley. Murrieta officially became a city in 1991 and by 2005, the population had grown to more than 85,000, becoming one of the largest populations in the county. Today, the community continues to grow in population and businesses, and is a wonderful place for families, entrepreneurs, and individuals with a vision for the future.
Located just north of Temecula, Murrieta, CA is the second safest city in the entire country, a great place to live and build a family. The city’s violent crime rate stands at 71 incidents per 100,000 people, a fraction of the national violent crime rate. The schools in Murrieta Valley Unified district are highly rated (8 out of 10), and the district is consistently one of the highest performing in Riverside County.
There are great restaurants, dining opportunities and things to do within the city. Murrieta’s home prices are more affordable than Temecula, however with a quick drive you can get to wine country and all the great amenities, including the Promenade Mall, wineries, breweries, and Old Town Temecula.
As a real estate expert in Murrieta, CA, based in the city for over a decade and spending days and weekends hiking the surrounding Santa Ana Mountain wildlife, I love this city and all it has to offer.
